Chair’s Welcome

Welcome to Cardiff Open Air Theatre 2024; another exciting year of outdoor theatre at its very best.

This year we bring you a fantastic variety of shows that we feel will appeal to every taste, whether that be stand-up comedy, Shakespeare, musical theatre, live music from our two fabulous tribute bands, light entertainment and even something for the gardening fraternity – no entertainment stone left unturned.

The Festival, now in its 41st year, attracts the cream of talent from all over South Wales and has a great reputation for nurturing and developing new talent, whether that be onstage, backstage or front of house. We feel extremely proud that some go on to successfully pursue professional careers within the world of theatre and the arts. As testament to the standard of the Festival we attract working professional actors and creatives who return to work with us each year. 

I must draw your attention to the fact that the Festival is almost entirely run by volunteers, giving up days of their valuable time to make this Festival the success it is today. I would like to say a BIG thank you to all concerned. 

All that remains to say is we hope you enjoy the shows, whichever you choose. And remember if you did, please spread the word and tell all your friends!
