FAQs

How do I book tickets?

Our box office is handled by our friends over at Ticketsource. The Box Office opens on the 1 March 2022. Head to their website or call 0333 666 3366.

Where are you based?

The festival in 2022 is back at Sophia Gardens in the heart of Cardiff. We recommend using public transport where you can, but the festival site is located right next to Sophia Gardens car park. Please check the Cardiff Council website for other events which may necessitate allowing longer to park, particularly large sporting events and those at Cardiff Castle.

You can download the Cardiff Council parking app before visiting the festival. This will show spaces in car parks as well as allow you to pay on the app rather than queuing at the machine. More information can be found here – https://secure.mipermit.com/cardiff/application/home.aspx.

What about disabled parking?

Disabled parking spaces are located in the Sophia Gardens car park.

What happens if it rains?

The festival audience is based undercover in our specially-built auditorium! Our cast, however, are out in the elements and, if it rains, the show must go on!

Are seats numbered?

All seats are numbered and you can select your preferred seat when booking your tickets. Book early to avoid disappointment and to guarantee the best seats in the house.

What if it gets cold?

We recommend bringing a few layers as the weather can vary during the festival!

What facilities are available for disabled customers?

If you would like to book a wheelchair space, or have specific seating requirements, please call our Box Office to book your tickets and they’ll be able to help reserve the best spaces for you. An accessible toilet is available in the Festival Courtyard. Access to the auditorium is via matting and there is step-free access to the seating area.

The 3pm performance of Little Shop of Horrors on the 23rd July will be BSL interpreted.

What is Hynt?

Hynt is a national scheme that works with theatres and arts centres across Wales to make things clear and consistent in fair ticketing policy and accessibility.

Hynt cardholders are entitled to a ticket free of charge for a personal assistant or carer at the festival. Visit Hynt to find a range of information about the scheme and to join.  To book your Hynt tickets, please contact Box Office on 0333 666 3366.

Can I book group tickets?

Group ticket discounts can be used by calling our box office.

Will there be any programmes this year?

Festival programmes will be on sale at the festival site, and are also available at a discount when you purchase your tickets.

Can I bring children/are the shows family friendly?

Babes in arms are free, you will need to book separate tickets for any children who need their own seats. We recommend reading the description of the shows to inform your decision.

Can I take photos or videos?

You are welcome to take photos and videos before and after shows, as well as in the festival courtyard. Please do not take photos or videos during the productions.

What refreshments are available?

The festival bar is open an hour before each performance and includes alcoholic and soft drinks, and a small selection of snacks. The last orders are at 10.50pm and the bar closes at 11pm. Internal drinks can be ordered before the show. Please note that the bar stops service 5 minutes before the show begins to enable all audience members to get to their seats. Drinks are not served during the performance. All money raised from the bar goes back into running the festival.

The Galette Wagon are serving food before each performance and during the interval. This includes crepes, hot dogs and other sweet treats.

Can I bring food and drink with me?

We ask that you only take refreshments purchased in the festival courtyard into the auditorium. Please use the bins provided.

Are dogs permitted?

Only assistance dogs are permitted into the festival site.

What happens if I need to cancel my tickets?

Tickets are sold as non-refundable unless an event is cancelled or postponed. Tickets may be exchanged up to 24 hours prior to a performance for the same production but exchange fees will be incurred. Please contact TicketSource on 0333 666 3366 or email support@ticketsource.co.uk
